Yesterday we posted a #TBT of a cake so large and kept getting the same response….”WOW!” We decided that we had to share a little more from this wonderful event. Last December we had the pleasure of planning the largest wedding SOCO EVENTS has had to date…..over 1250 guests!!! The wedding couple are VIP Ethiopians, so we have not been able to share too much, but wanted to post a few “behind the scenes” images from the week long setup!
To begin….the cake! Maggie Austin Cakes was shocked when we said we wanted the cake to be over 7ft tall (I think it was a hair under 9ft). She nicknamed the cake “Kobe” while making ‘him.”

I love a good before and after, so I had to share these!
The cake was too amazing to not have a spectacular backdrop, so Amaryllis created a custom buildout.

I was honored to work on this wedding and it was definitely a career milestone to check off the list. So bring on the 1500+ guests weddings, we got it!
