#841….I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOUR TABLE LOOK LIKE THIS!

There are millions of reasons to hire a wedding planner, but this particular one caught my attention.  The above image was showcased on multiple blogs and social media outlets throughout the day, yesterday.  At first glance, it is a very pretty table. I LOVE “al fresco” dining and the organic elegance of this setting.  The concept is great, the location is gorgeous, but the execution of the details is a whole other story.

I am a stickler for perfect details.  It does not matter how big or small the detail is, it is imperative that it is perfect.  You will find this as a characteristic in most planners.  It’s what makes us who we are and great at what we do.  Therefore, I hope that I am not the only one to notice the small, but very noticeable details that are making me wonder how this tablescape was so very popular on the internet yesterday.

The first thing that caught my eye was the table runner.  To say that this table runner is “off- center” is an understatement.  The runner also has a HUGE folding crease in the bottom of it.  The table runner crease led my eye to the fact that the ivory linen underlay not only has folding creases as well, but it is WRINKLED! This is just inexcusable.

Furthermore, this is not 1 table in a sea of 20 that is “off”, it seems that it is the ONLY table at the wedding.  That means 100% of the tables at the wedding were not set with the attention to detail that the bride and groom deserved (and paid for).  Most wedding planners would have had this table reset IMMEDIATELY.

I have no doubt that this wedding was wonderful, the bride was beautiful and that guests danced the night away under the stars!  However, I do believe that if you are going to do something, do it right. Hiring a good wedding planner is an assurance that ALL of the details (big and small) will be perfect  for you on your big day!
